Rovigo Cello City
The 10th edition of Rovigo Cello City promises to be exceptional, a prestigious milestone that testifies to the constant quality of the artistic offer.
The festival dedicated to the cello, which every year marks the end of summer, this year will be held from 3 to 10 September 2023, again in the capital city.
A parterre of internationally renowned artists to celebrate this important birthday and a week that, in addition to concerts, will include master classes, meetings and moments of conviviality always in the name of music. Prominent names include Arthur Hornig, first cello of the Deutsche Oper orchestra in Berlin, and the happy return to Rovigo of Giovanni Sollima, who will close the festival.
The formula that best identifies the Festival is unique: not only the festival's ability to attract the most prestigious names in cello at an international level, but above all the intention to bring young students of the instrument closer to great artists so that they can draw maximum inspiration from the encounter.
The project thus takes on a clear educational connotation and the opportunity becomes a powerful educational driver that can change the perspective and future of young students.
As always, the main stage will be set up in the Temple of the Rotunda, as well as other evocative venues such as the Church of Christ, the Teatro Sociale's ridotto, the cloister of the Olivetani Monastery, and the 'Marco Tamburini' Auditorium of the Venezze Conservatory.
This is an unmissable opportunity not only to attend the festival, but also to spend a few days of holiday discovering the historical and artistic heritage of Rovigo and the many villages not far away, where you can find villas-palaces, museums large and small, sacred places without forgetting nature and the flavours of land and water that the "Land between Adige and Po" knows how to offer with taste and spirit.
